The American Wine Society, the nation’s oldest and largest organization of wine consumers, will hold it's next annual conference in Washington state for the first time, when the event comes to Bellevue, Washington on Oct. 29 -31, 2020. Bellevue is near Seattle and is also home to many winery tasting centers.The conference features more than 40 sessions with leading figures in the wine world, wine-paired meals, walk-around tastings and certification programs. The Wines of Washington will be a highlight of the conference. While the conference focuses on fun and exploration, it offers more in-depth opportunities, including Wine & Spirit Education Trust, Certified Wine Judge Program and Super Tasting Series.
Welcome to the American Wine Society Tampa Bay Chapter's new blog.In the Florida, we have grapes, wineries, home winemakers, wine aficionados, wine academies, a prosperous tourism industry and great restaurants with great by wine! While Florida is not known for main grape varietals it does have excellent native and hybrid grapes. Further, many of our in-state wine makers work with high quality vinifera grapes. Many times, we can easily connect with restaurants and wineries to taste the wines and meet the winemakers. Wine is everywhere; Up along the Gulf Coast to the Panhandle; From the inner regions of the state to up and down across the Atlantic shoreline to the Florida Keys.We all know that California and Northwest region have more wineries than any other. But Florida has some of the best restaurants and festivals in the country bar-none. Dinners and hotels are often loaded with great food and wine. It is very sociable. Throughout the year Florida has winery events, winemaker dinners, charities, festivals, classes, and meetups that are all about wine, plus the weather is often great enjoy these activities outdoors in the Florida sun.Tampa Bay is home to some of the best it.
