Is the Wine Correspondent Alliance a Charity? Are donations tax deductible?
Yes, the Wine Correspondent Alliance is a 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax-deductible under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code to the fullest extent allowable under the law.

Can I donate in honor or in memory of someone? How will they be notified?
Yes, you can donate in honor or in memory of someone. The Wine Correspondent Alliance will send a card in the mail to the address you specified. Please be aware that it can take up to four weeks for the card to arrive. The wine alliance is unable to send email notifications or send anonymous honorary notifications.
Does The Wine Correspondent Alliance accept donations from rollover IRAs?
Yes; the Wine Correspondent Alliance Foundation(WCAF) is eligible for qualified charitable distributions (QCD) through the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act of 2015. Your gift will count toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year in which the check is issued and is excluded from your taxable income.
What are the legal requirements for directing a rollover IRA to WCAF?
The minimum age requirement for a rollover IRA is 70 1/2. The maximum donation amount in one year cannot exceed $100,000. Also, IRA donations must be submitted directly from your financial institution.
What information do I need to provide my financial institution to donate from my rollover IRA?
When making an IRA contribution, please provide your broker with WCAF’s address and Tax ID:

In order to donate your IRA rollover to the Wine Correspondent Alliance, please provide the mailing address and Tax ID # of your local administrative office.
I’m a monthly donor. How do I update my billing information?
You can update your billing information by contacting us at 1-888-341-5152. or emailing winecorrespondent@gmail.com. Please be prepared to provide the full name, email address and billing address used when setting up the monthly donation so we can locate your gift.
Will I get a tax receipt for my monthly contributions?
Yes, we will send a tax receipt for all of your tax-deductible monthly contributions at the beginning of the next calendar year. To receive a duplicate receipt, please contact us here or 1-888-341-5152.
How do I cancel my monthly donation?
You can cancel your monthly donation at any time by contacting us here or 1-888-341-5152. Please be prepared to provide the full name, email address and billing address used when setting up the monthly donation so we can locate your gift.
